I am not an expert, just a discerning wine lover or amateur de vin (as the French say), but everyone has a different palate, likes and dislikes so it must be understood that any of my recommendations are personal. I just hope that you find them useful or at the very least - interesting. I also hope you enjoy my photos. It is more fun sharing then keeping them backed up on a hard drive.

Affordable, Approachable Summer Wines

It has been a hot summer so the focus has  been on whites and roses. Easy drinking QPR wines. This week's just happen to be from Niagara because I am back from another trip to the wineries.

HENRY OF PELHAM - SIBLING RIVALRY WHITE, NIAGARA PENINSULA - $13.95
This blend of Riesling, Chardonnay & Gewurtztraminer blend has the crisp acid of a Riesling but the both and perfume of the other varieties. White blossom, peach and gentle lemon on the nose that follows through on the palate with balanced with clean citrus finish

FEATHERSTONE - 2011 ROSE, NIAGARA PENINSULA - $14.95
Enticing deep coloured Rose - raspberry and strawberry fruit on both nose and palate. Medium bodied, nicely balanced wine. Would be lovely with grilled vegetables, seafood or fish.
